SweetCakes Bakery

Started in 2008 by mother-daughter team Brenda Lord and Heather Allen, SweetCakes Bakery is a gourmet cupcake shop serving the Lake Norman area including Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Denver, Concord and surrounding areas in North Carolina.

Originally baking cupcakes out of Brenda's home and selling them at the Davidson Farmer's Market, SweetCakes got off to a great start and quickly needed a larger kitchen and retail location to meet the demand. After a long summer of renovations, SweetCakes opened in their current location in October 2009 and went through a small expansion several months later to expand the preparation area to better accomodate larger orders and wedding cakes.

SweetCakes has its roots at the Davidson Farmer's Market and uses many ingredients from local farmers and businesses, including farm fresh local eggs, Yah's Best products, and fruits and vegetables when they're in season. All our cupcakes are made fresh daily and we don't sell a cupcake if it's more than a day old. And one thing you won't find at SweetCakes are preservatives or mixes. All our cupcakes are made from scratch, with the highest quality ingredients we can find.

SweetCakes Bakery in Cornelius, NC is now open Tuesday through Saturday, 10AM to 6PM. We're located at the corner of 115 and Catawba Avenue. Come in and see us and see why everyone loves our cupcakes and comes back for more.
